One of the first questions we hear from clients is, “How long will my kitchen take?” While it’s a perfectly reasonable question, the answer is that every project is different.
The timeframe for a new kitchen or custom joinery project depends on several factors, including the size and complexity of the design, the materials and finishes you’ve selected, and the progress of other trades involved in your renovation or new build.
Rather than providing unrealistic promises, we prefer to give you a clear and honest timeline based on your individual project.
No two kitchens are exactly the same.
Some projects involve replacing cabinetry within an existing space, while others form part of a complete home renovation or new build. Larger projects with bespoke joinery, premium finishes or complex design features naturally require more planning and manufacturing than a straightforward kitchen installation.
We take the time to understand your project before providing an estimated timeframe, ensuring our expectations are realistic from the very beginning.
A successful project starts long before manufacturing begins.
During the design and quotation stage, we’ll work with you to finalise layouts, materials, colours, hardware and finishes. Taking the time to make these decisions early helps avoid unnecessary delays later in the project.
Once your selections have been confirmed and your Sign Off Documents have been completed, your project can move into production with confidence that every detail has been carefully considered.
Good planning is one of the best ways to achieve a smooth installation.
As part of your quotation, we’ll provide an estimated timeline based on your project and the information available at the time.
Once everything has been approved, we’ll also provide a tentative installation date so you know when to expect your cabinetry to be installed.
We use the word tentative because renovation and construction projects don’t always progress exactly as planned. While we do everything possible to stay on schedule, there are often factors outside our control that can influence installation dates.
Providing realistic expectations from the beginning helps avoid unnecessary stress and ensures everyone is working towards the same timeline.
Kitchen projects rarely happen in isolation.
Builders, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, tilers, flooring installers and painters all play an important role in preparing your space before cabinetry can be installed.
If one stage of construction takes longer than expected, it can have a flow-on effect for the trades that follow. This is a normal part of the building process and something we account for when scheduling projects.
Our team works closely with builders, homeowners and other trades to coordinate installation as efficiently as possible.
Because every Proform kitchen is manufactured in our Montrose workshop, we’re able to maintain greater control over production and quality.
Local manufacturing also provides greater flexibility if adjustments need to be made during your project. Rather than relying on products shipped from interstate or overseas, we’re able to respond more quickly when circumstances change.
This helps minimise delays while ensuring your cabinetry continues to meet our high standards.
We understand that waiting for your new kitchen can be exciting, and sometimes a little stressful.
That’s why communication is such an important part of our process.
If your installation date changes due to construction delays or circumstances beyond our control, we’ll let you know as soon as possible. We believe honest communication is the best way to ensure every client feels informed and confident throughout the project.
You’ll never be left wondering what’s happening or when the next stage will begin.
While everyone is eager to enjoy their new kitchen, we never believe quality should be sacrificed for speed.
Every cabinet is carefully manufactured, checked and prepared before installation because we know that attention to detail makes all the difference. Taking the time to do the job properly results in cabinetry that not only looks exceptional but continues to perform beautifully for many years.
Our reputation has been built on craftsmanship, not rushing projects to meet unrealistic deadlines.
At Proform Kitchens & Joinery Solutions, our priority is delivering a finished result you’ll be proud of. From the initial consultation through to installation, we focus on careful planning, quality manufacturing and clear communication to make the entire experience as smooth as possible.
Our focus has never been on finishing first. It’s on finishing well. By taking the time to do things properly and keeping you informed throughout the process, we deliver kitchens that are built to last and an experience you can feel confident in from beginning to end.
