QUESTION

What is the process from start to finish?

Renovating your kitchen or investing in custom joinery is an exciting project, but it’s natural to wonder what happens next. One of the questions we’re asked most often is, “What does the process look like from start to finish?”

At Proform Kitchens & Joinery Solutions, we’ve refined our process over more than 20 years to make every project as straightforward, organised and enjoyable as possible. While every home and every client is different, our approach remains the same: clear communication, careful planning and quality craftsmanship at every stage.

Our goal is to ensure you always know what’s happening, what’s coming next and who to contact if you have any questions.

Step One: The Initial Consultation

Every project begins with a conversation.

This may take place in our showroom or as an in-home consultation, depending on your project and preferences. During this meeting, we’ll discuss your ideas, your lifestyle, the way you use your space and your budget.

We’ll also explore different design possibilities, materials, finishes and practical solutions that will help you get the most from your investment.

This is an opportunity for us to understand your vision while giving you honest advice based on our experience.

Step Two: Concept Design and Quotation

Using the information gathered during our consultation, we’ll prepare a concept design together with a detailed quotation.

This allows you to visualise your new kitchen or joinery while clearly understanding what’s included in the project.

We’ll discuss any adjustments you’d like to make and answer any questions before moving forward. We want you to feel completely confident before making your decision.

Step Three: Final Selections and Sign Off

Once you’ve decided to proceed, we’ll finalise all of the important details.

This includes confirming your materials, colours, hardware, finishes and any additional design features you’ve selected.

We’ll then prepare your Sign Off Documents, which outline the agreed specifications for your project. These documents ensure everyone is working from the same plan before manufacturing begins.

At this stage, we’ll also provide a tentative installation date.

We describe this as tentative because building and renovation projects don’t always follow an exact schedule. Delays with other trades, changes during construction or unforeseen site conditions can occasionally affect installation timing.

If anything changes along the way, we’ll communicate with you promptly so you’re always informed.

Step Four: Final Site Measure

Where required, we’ll return to your home to complete a final site measure.

This is an important step, particularly for renovation projects, as it allows us to confirm that every measurement is accurate before manufacturing begins.

Taking the time to verify dimensions helps ensure your cabinetry fits perfectly and allows us to identify any final adjustments before production.

Step Five: Manufacturing

Once everything has been confirmed, your cabinetry is manufactured in our Montrose workshop.

Because we manufacture locally, we maintain complete control over quality throughout the entire process. Every cabinet is carefully constructed using quality materials and precision manufacturing techniques before being thoroughly checked prior to installation.

This attention to detail ensures every component meets the high standards we’ve become known for.

Step Six: Installation

When your cabinetry is ready, we’ll coordinate installation with you and any other trades involved in the project.

Our experienced installers take great care throughout the installation process, ensuring every cabinet is fitted accurately and finished to the highest standard.

Where required, we’ll also coordinate the remaining trade work to help bring your project to completion as smoothly as possible.

Step Seven: Final Inspection and Handover

Before your project is complete, we’ll carry out a final inspection to ensure every detail meets our expectations and yours.

We’ll walk through the finished space with you, answer any final questions and make sure you’re completely satisfied with the result before handover.

Our aim is to deliver a kitchen or joinery project that not only looks exceptional but performs beautifully for many years to come.

Supporting You Every Step of the Way

We understand that renovating can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly if it’s your first major home project.

That’s why communication is one of the most important parts of our process. From your first consultation to the final handover, we’re here to answer your questions, provide honest advice and keep you informed every step of the way.

After more than two decades of designing and manufacturing kitchens and custom joinery throughout Tasmania, we’ve learned that a great experience is just as important as a great finished product.

Because building beautiful cabinetry is only part of what we do. Helping our clients enjoy the journey is equally important.
